The lease extension clause: the most valuable paragraph in the deed
An extension agreed now is worth a great deal. An extension you plan to negotiate later is worth nothing.

What a usable clause contains
- A fixed extension term, in years.
- A price, or a formula tied to something objective.
- A notice window, and what happens if notice is missed.
- Confirmation the right passes to a buyer if you sell the lease.
Common questions
Can I extend a Bali leasehold later?
Only if the deed provides for it. Without a clause you are asking a favour, priced by someone who knows your position.
